This year’s CINEMA ONE ORIGINALS FILM FESTIVAL finally happens starting November 11 and wraps up on the 19th. Cinema One’s prime man Ronald Arguelles has this to say : “Our films this year are really different, for those craving new things. ARIELLA ARIDA : A Matter Of Blanched IGNORANCE

This issue about ARIELLA ARIDA’s inadequacy with the spoken English language has gotten too muddled to recycle.  But after having been bothered by the ghost of righteousness, I decided to dig deeper into the matter.  This year’s Philippine representative to the Miss Universe beauty contest in Russia manifests indeed a slight grammatical glitch as exhibited in her interviews.  But this is not really the meat of contention right now.  When DJ Mo Twister bashed her racists slur in an interview with Karen Davila ; he suddenly took the flak and was condemned to some imaginable hell for being [allegedly] insensitive and outrightly mean.  Of course Mo Twister took the matter in a rather moronic way saying that Arida’s comment “Especially, Latinas cannot even speak a sentence, right? I mean, a complete sentence, in English.” [in reply to Davila’s question regarding her communications skills which the host noticed to be ‘wonky’.] offended Latinas in general.  Frankly? Frankly, had Mo Twister lambasted Arida for her ignorance about Spanish as one of the ten universal languages he would have stood on a firmer ground.  Yes, I repeat : Spanish is the SECOND ranking language in the world [the first being Mandarin] , therefore they [Spanish speaking countries/people] do not worry about having to speak English.  Sadly, Ariella is not only handicapped with her facility of the spoken English but is also an ignoramus  by utilizing a simile that she is not totally sure [or aware] of.  Only imbeciles would compare their insufficiency with other creatures.  The Arida Blunder is deeper than what we all deem it to be!

There’s no stopping LANCE RAYMUNDO now.  After garnering the Most Outstanding Performance Artist award at  the  GawadMusika 2013 , he is all fired up to renew his romance with his music.  He is heavy now on the storyboard for the music videos his group is coming up with soon.  Last seen in Romy Suzara’s ‘TINIK’, Lance is now considered to be one of the most reliable character actors in town.  Lance recently finished the shoot for Francis ‘Jun’ Posada’s family drama ‘ANINAG’ and will soon wrap up ‘BABANG LUKSA’ , a thriller this time with Bong Ramos which also stars Polo Ravales and Althea Vega. He is also about to start doing two more films before the year ends with Romy Suzara and Ato Bautista , respectively.  Of course, don’t miss LANCE as he performs ‘LOVE&FASCINATION’ this late Saturday night [or early Sunday]  on the Master Showman German Moreno’s WALANG TULUGAN on GMA7.  Likewise , he will also perform it live on November 9 at Bagaberde for Chito Alcid’s fund raising concert; he is also set to guest on Vic Fabe’s  Fashion Show at the World Trade Center .

This IS totally news.  Pop Princess SARAH GERONIMO is in love again… this time with Cebuano-Italian heart-throb MATTEO GUIDICELLI !  No doubt, her fans are cheering deep inside because at her ripe age of past half twenties, she deserves a lovelife!  Figuring in several heartbreaks, Sarah is now quite mature enough to weigh her emotions and dwell only on what her feelings feed her.  Definitely such is love.  You do not put into consideration the rest of the world (especially your meddling immediate ones) but only the thrill of having your heart beat four times faster the usual and synchronized perfectly with the apple of your eye!  Her camp is mum about making a fuzz about an admittance but when I saw Sarah recently , her glow exuded MOLTO BELLA!  They really don’t have to publicly announce their romance for whatever reason because keeping it under the blanket makes it a bit deliciously  edgy and also  adds to some subtle excitement that they can both share as the real people that they are away from the meddling  crowd!  Love is in the air!

Some cheeky a bit cheesy showbiz comrade sent me a viber message that made me rush to where my dentures were , popped them into my cavity and started screaming!  WHAAAAATTTT????  The earth-shakin’, mind-bogglin’ news about LUIS MANZANO & JENNYLYN MERCADO’s break-up totally numbed me from chin down to my pubes! It wasn’t easy for me to calm down so easily since from the start of their relationship I only wished that they both were good enough for each other to lead them into marital bliss forever and a day.  There were of course speculations of a shortlived liaison for allegedly due to several issues such as bisexuality and promiscuity [damn, you figure to whom which of which apply to].  For a while, they seemed so jelled up and romantic sparks were reportedly seen everytime they appeared together in public.  But then, here it is.  They have split up.  Possible reasons? The usual, personality quirks that don’t jibe; a third party who came late and drank like a fish; archived ills that is unearthed every now so often to chill the bottle… and a whole lot of other interplanetary bumps that severed a bond once tied to each other’s heart.  In few, or better still this weekend one of them will be interviewed by some bald phantom and everybody will be made to believe what they feel should be appropriately believable! Touché!

It is not everyday now that we ogle on what FREDDIE AGUILAR is up to.  After he gained massive popularity with his ANAK hitsong ; he simply stayed on an OPM pedestal where his name is usually mentioned with a slight bow of reverence.  A high priest of sorts, Ka Freddie as he is fondly called ; sailed through the years while maintaining a lifestyle fit the King of Pinoy Folk.  His record royalties and business acumen has made that all possible.  Then yesterday, in a salacious tone , netizens were outraged with his latest amorous conquest!  A photo showing him smooching a lady.  A photo of a 60 year old man romancing an allegedly 16 year old girl!  What the!  People were quick to react and condemn the recently senior-ed Ka Freddie!  This is an outrage!  Some even took the effort to consult lawyers and quote his possible offenses.  They figured that Aguilar can be accused of SEDUCTION and also answerable to RA9262 among other sundries.  Is it then an indiscretion on the icon’s part to have shared his private affair to public?  Is he trying to make some people green with envy that at his age he enamored a spring chicken with some feathers still missing?  With what surfaced on the net, Aguilar simply said that  he did not know that his girlfriend was a minor when he first met her but said he was already in love when he found out. He also added that He said he has her parents’ blessings and is ready to marry her when she’s legal and ready. He added that they have discussed the prospect of having a baby.  Love knows nothing but itself… it is blind, ageless, gender-less, space-less and most often misunderstood to cock-eyed idiots like reporters!

Nineteen year old WALANG TULUGAN charmer LLOYD ABELLA is sneaking right into our consciousness as he guests on JOY VIADO’s show at BAGABERDE [Roxas Blvd corner Gil Puyat] this Saturday!  Although Lloyd is still quite heavily laden with his studies as a BSBA Computer Application major at the DeLa Salle College of St. Benilde, he nevertheless has given ample time and attention to his showbiz career.  Now a regular of Master Showman German Moreno‘s WALANG TULUGAN late Saturday night show, where he is noticeable in his song and dance routine; he is also one of the most sought after TV/Print Ad model appearing on the Bingo and Coke tv ads as well as the prints for Jollibee, Banco de Oro among several others.  His mom, Maricor is really happy with how Lloyd is slowly fulfilling his showbiz dreams and notes that when her son finally graduates, he shall get into a full-gear mode to capture a wider chance to concentrate deeply into his craft.  Catch Lloyd this Saturday at Bagaberde!

Lance Raymundo : BEST DANCE!

Actor LANCE RAYMUNDO is a RARA AVIS… a Rare Bird in our midst.  You best describe him when you don’t since nobody really knows what is brewing deeper into his creative mind.  The poignance he drizzles upon each and every  performance profoundly personify the now countless filmic  characters he ephemerally lend lives to.  But Lance also has  this rhythmic energy that he has properly put into place.  Been into it for a while now, he merely put that into hold for acting projects but when he won Most Outstanding Performance Artist at  the  GawadMusika 2013, he simply couldn’t resist the burning urge to yield and revive his WolfSound. He gladly obliges to share how WolfSound saw the light : Wolfsound is a collection of 12 electropop songs which I wrote during my one week stay in Papua New Guinea! I had a concert there with Gretchen Espina. During our free days… Something about the environment (mostly jungles.. trees… animals… I had a blast nature tripping) triggered the inspirations for WOLFsound. Wolf is the acronym for Wonders Of Living in Freedom. In my case… Freedom to fully express myself as a songwriter because I’m releasing the songs independently…. So I’m not following any orders from A&R [Artist&Repertoire]  people from record companies. I hope this inspires other artists to set their Art free for the public to enjoy! Best Dance is all about wanting to be the most memorable thing to ever happen to any girl I go out with. “Dance” is just symbolic. It could mean anything. Hence my ending line: “it doesn’t matter if I am her first or last dance… All that really matters is I AM her Best Dance”. If I get favorable response from this demo… I will definitely make a music video… And you bet it’s gonna be sexy as hell!!! I’m already visualizing how the girls would look like in the video! I have 11 more wolfsongs … So this is a trial and error experiment and I’m ready to digest any input from my audience… The Friends Of WolF!  

As a former pop FM  dj, I would float into every playlist a WolfSong for its dynamic thrust and because it’s a fresh take on ElectroPop by a Filipino!  A legend in the making? Most likely. Lance Raymundo is one name to remember now… not just as an actor but as a musician of substance as well!
