Very intimate in concept. No frills , just thrills as to what XIXI MATURAN may pull out as he [yes, he. he is gay but without delusions] tries to stitch out a show he produces, directs and stars. It all started when painter POPO SAN PASCUAL introduced him to MARIUS VIOLAGO in 2010. Marius at that time had this cozy place around Tagaytay Rutonda called ‘SHELTER BAR’. Xixi , who has through the years enjoyed doing shows for friends asked Marius if it was possible for him to mount a concept show he had in his head for years. Marius was delighted with the idea and why not? It was a perfect time since the concept was really just a show title. U N V A L E N T I N E …. ME! Unvalen- what? Unvalentine Me! It really has a lot of connotations or it may not have a single one. It is a word play which simply implies the severance of ‘valentine’ from one’s system. It can also be perceived as a bitchy overtone of someone who is anti-valentine for whatever ungodly reason. Without having to really dissect what it means, the show successfully pulled through on February 11 , 2011. Then, skipped two years, then had another last year at Marius new place called M Café & Spa at R M Asuncion, Silang Cavite. In between though, Xixi did several performances at M.
Next year, which marks five happy years of friendship between Xixi and Marius, the song stylist opts to level up the ‘UnValentine Me’ concept with The FINAL TOUCH Band and special guests LANCE RAYMUNDO and LLOYD ABELLA. Xixi will be doing more than 20 lovesongs embellished with thoughts on love, life and the unknown! Lance and Lloyd will be serenading the night’s audience with their own brand of music. Likewise, SHIRLEY of the Final Touch Band will enchant the evening with her languorous voice and repertoire. Mark the date : FEBRUARY 7, 2015. Showtime : 6pm
M Café & Spa will of course be at its best and definitely Chef Jude Lopez Mancuyas’ will whip up fabulous treats for the evening’s guests.
