Set in ST. MARIA GORETTI HIGH SCHOOL (SMG), an elite all-girls institution run by nuns, Ninja Party explores a culture repressed by traditional Catholic values, and its effects on the impressionable youth. The senior batch’s popular clique–Shally, Sasha, Nicky, and Carla–live their charmed lives in blissful ignorance. Their financial freedom allows them the luxury of time and mindless fun. Typical of young school girls, their priorities lie in popularity games and petty issues. Exposure to social media, the internet and western culture open their minds to curiosity and peer pressure. The sexually explicit content of a progressive school play pushes the overly-conservative principal, Sister Teresa, to make irrational decisions. She cancels the much-anticipated soiree with boys from ST. BENEDICT JOHN HIGH SCHOOL (SBJ), and replaces it with the Living Rosary. In an act of rebellion combined with mounting pressures from school and societal expectations, the girls push the limits by planning a wilder extreme soiree –THE NINJA PARTY– where participants engage in a masquerade sex party of their own with random blindfolded boys from SBJ High School and ski-mask wearing girls from St. Maria Goretti (SMG). The fast-approaching graduation pushes the girls to postpone their petty activities and focus on their future. All seems well until rumors begin to spread about the events of the NINJA PARTY, and quickly breaking down the girls’ superficial facades and friendships, exposing their vulnerability and ignorance – And threatening their lives after graduation. Shame and guilt forces the school principal to assimilate changes in light of the controversy. But in order to preserve the school and their families’ reputations, punishments are disregarded. The girls go back to the fold of pious contrition and repentance. Sister Tere’s and the parent’s voices ring out–“This never happened.” Based on a true story.STAFF

SINAG MAYNILA . A new local indie film fest is coming this March 18-24, 2015! Solar Entertainment Corporation, together with renowned director Brillante Mendoza, presents “Sinag Maynila.”
With its tagline, “Pelikulang Pinoy, Pusong Pinoy”, Sinag Maynila features some of the best directors in the country. This year’s entries includes Paul Sta. Ana’s “Balut Country”, about the story of a man undecided what to do with the duck farm business left by his late father, Zig Dulay’s “Bambanti”, about the search of a missing watch involving a mother and son, Lawrence Fajardo’s “Imbisibol”, about the struggles of OFWs in Japan, Jim Libiran’s “Ninja Party”, about the conflicts experienced by female students of an elite Catholic high school, and Remton Zuasola’s “Swap”, a film shot in one long take about two kidnappings gone awry. What binds these films is the quest to reflect real stories, and to make us think, not just entertain.
The film festival will run at selected SM Cinemas. Let’s show our support to local independent cinema and watch these films.
‘UnVALENTINE Me… XIXI MATURAN’ Year 3 @ M Café &Spa!
Very intimate in concept. No frills , just thrills as to what XIXI MATURAN may pull out as he [yes, he. he is gay but without delusions] tries to stitch out a show he produces, directs and stars. It all started when painter POPO SAN PASCUAL introduced him to MARIUS VIOLAGO in 2010. Marius at that time had this cozy place around Tagaytay Rutonda called ‘SHELTER BAR’. Magpatuloy sa pagbasa
RUBY , KORINA Among Other Etched December Fiascos
FOR quite sometime now I really haven’t been myself, I may be going through a phase where I couldn’t care less. Is it probably because I am pushing 60 and quite unconsciously apprehensive of that state in two years time? Or have I gone numb and callous that nothing excites me now to do anything else aside from FaceBook? Yes, I am too Facebook-y and some Twitter and Instagram on the side and lots of Soda Crush. LANCE RAYMUNDO : THE SONGWRITER SURFACES ANEW!
I wish I could muster my thoughts and clearly describe LANCE RAYMUNDO in just on awe-mazing word but I guess that is not possible. Literally getting in through the backdoor, Lance weathered through some trials that were tough and almost snuffed his young life. Magpatuloy sa pagbasa
KATHRYN BERNARDO & JONALYN VIRAY : Separated @ Birth ?
It takes a sharp intuitive initiative to fulfill entries here. As it always boils down, marami talagang contemporary celebs na nagiging magkakamukha lalo na kung nagkakaroon ng make up fad kung saan ang shading ay inuuulit para makuha ang isang effect. Magpatuloy sa pagbasa
MAEGAN AGUILAR : MAULED BY LOVER, BASHED BY NETIZENS
Call For Compassion : SAVE JOMARI RODRIGUEZ FROM THE EVIL STREETS OF MANILA!
I was touched when I chanced upon this on Mabuhay Winfrey’s FB account that is why I am posting it here : Nov. 1, mag- 11pm na, napadaan kami sa may MCdonald’s corner Recto Ave. at SH Loyola St. para magkape nang napansin naming ang batang ito na nakatulog sa walkway sa labas katapat ng table namin.

Trivializing can be a hard habit to break. Actually, trivializing is the main lifeline of ‘The Buzz’ on 2. From it’s very first airing, there is nothing much to expect from its content, much less the conduct of the jaded hosts we have all learned not to become… Magpatuloy sa pagbasa

REY ‘PJ’ ABELLANA – LENI SANTOS / MARVIN AGUSTIN – JOLINA MAGDANGAL : RESURRECTED LOVETEAMS OF THE SEASON
The 70s and 80s were filled with love teams. It was a surefire way to gain popularity overnight if you were romantically paired on tv and the movies. Only action stars waved through it all by being alone and with just accidental love interest. But LOVETEAMS were almost an industry; movies featuring pairs often wrecked the box office and they were considered to be as precious as diamond since the money they would rake sometimes beyond the producer’s expectations. When It’s Gray November In Your Soul …
I am not a big fan of halloween. Never. I cannot seem to find where the fun is all coming from when in fact it is the feast day of the departed. Feast to remember them with prayers, flowers and candles. I may have once donned some costume and went around Manila in the early 90s but that was it. Magpatuloy sa pagbasa
