JOBERT SUCALDITO : INDICTED!

NEWSFLASH : MANILA, Philippines—Showbiz writer Jobert Sucaldito and two other journalists of the tabloid Bandera, a sister publication of the Philippine Daily Inquirer, have been charged with libel in a  Quezon City court for allegedly maligning TV personality John Lapus in a column published early this year. Sucaldito, Bandera publisher Eileen Mangubat and editor Ervin Santiago were charged with libel for the allegedly defamatory article titled “Kaya muntik makuyog, Sweet nagwala sa bar” published on February 19 in Bandera. The article allegedly portrayed Lapus (Anthony Lapus in real life) as a “shame to homosexuals,” the two-page indictment said. Assistant city prosecutor Leizel Aquiatan-Morales recommended a bail of P10,000 each for the three journalists for their temporary freedom.

SUPERSTAR NORA AUNOR SIGNS A THREE-YEAR CONTRACT WITH KAPATID NETWORK!

MARICRIS VALDEZ NICASIO REPORTS : DAHIL sa sobrang importansiyang ibinigay kay Nora Aunor ng TV5, muling pipirma ng 3 (three) yr. contract ang nag-iisang Superstar sa Kapatid Network. Ayon kay Nora sa red carpet premier ng pilot episode ng Sa Ngalan ng Ina mineserye, “Dahil sa sobrang kasiyahang naramdaman ko sa importansiyang ibinigay ng TV5 sa akin, muli po akong pumirma ng 3 yr. contract sa kanila.  “Wala akong masabi sa sobra-sobrang importansiyang ibinigay nila sa akin. Wala po akong reklamo sa kanila. Isang pamilya kaming nagtatrabaho rito at walang intrigahan,” paliwanag pa ni Nora.

Hindi ko lang tuwirang maituro o matunton kung kaylan nagsimula ang tinatawag na FILIPINO TIME.  Ito ‘yong laging sinasabi kapag hindi sumisipot agad o late sa pinag-usapang oras ng pagkikita ang isang Pinoy.  Nakakainis ang FT dahil maraming oras ang nawawaldas sa paghihintay.  Gawain ito ng mga taong ang hilig magpa-importante kahit hindi naman kagandahan o ka-halagahan.  Gawain ito ng mga mahilig lang mang-asar dahil USA o UhawSaAtensyon sila. Dapat na nga bang gisingin natin ang mga hunghang na ito o burahin na lang sa ating listahan bilang friends o associate.  Sa propesyunal na mundo dapat lang segurong laging ON TIME dahil maapektuhan nang grabe ang productivity ng opisina o korporasyon.  Matitinag kaya ang kanilang damdamin at sumumpang kapag ang usapan ay alas-9 ng umaga ; 8:50am  pa lang ang naroon na sila?

Camille Prats’ Husband Dies

NEWSFLASH : Anthony Linsangan, the husband of local actress Camille Prats, succumbed to throat cancer at the Makati Medical Center (MMC) on Friday.
Prats’ manager, Arnold Vegafria, told GMA‘s Startalk that Linsangan died at the MMC early Friday morning.
An article on the Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) website said Linsangan died at 8:45 a.m.
Linsangan, 32, succumbed to nasopharyngeal cancer, according to Vegafria. The disease affects the upper part of the throat, according to an article on medicinenet.com.

It comes as a refreshing surprise that SENATOR MIRIAM DEFENSOR SANTIAGO is headed towards another calling in life, that of a stand-up comedian! In her recent speaking engagements in various schools, she has elicited laughter and admiration from her audience with the brand of humor she offers. Sometimes with a straight face, the senator seem to be stoic but then everything is eased up when one munches on her punchlines.  One-liners or situational conversations are her  forte. DARKEST NIGHT : Filipino and American Film Team Finishes Filming New Horror Thriller!

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Gothic Productions International, a Philippine company funded by U.S. independent resources, has finished filming a horror film titled “Darkest Night” in Luzon, starting on May 12, 2011. The film has almost all Filipino actors, as well as American DJ Perry of “The 8th Plague,” “Wicked Spring” and many other popular U.S. horror films. GPI was founded in 2010 by a group of dedicated filmmakers from Asia and the U.S., with the mission to produce and encourage quality, independent Gothic and horror films in an Asian setting.
