So I raved about an upcoming actor’s performance in Joem Bascon’s action-launch film ‘ BAGONG DUGO’ a few whiles ago. Tracked his FaceBook account ; clicked on the ‘friend request’ button and since he remembered me singling him out during the premiere presscon, he accepted. Since then, I have been updated with the person and the actor whose earthname is IAN IGNACIO. While I was unbelieving that he was a newbie, I particularly noted on the nuance he provided the scenes he was in. Call it gut feel but Ian is such a natural, he perfectly sank into the character that even his look became it. Am I rambling now? Well , less that I be patronizingly redundant … guess it is enough that he is such a welcome addition to our local roster of actors in the industry.
He currently is smarting up for what could be a dream role : that of an Igorot warrior set in the darker ages of Spanish colonialization. His LAO-ANG character in Maria Urduja Osit Li’s ‘CORDILLERA SA DULO NG PANAHON’ naturally will have him conquer the setting’s chilly environs in a g-string. Asked if he sank into some personal reservation, he chides : ” I did personal research on the Igorot tribes and some for their cultural customs. Physically I’m staying in shape to be in a bahag for a long time. Hahaha” Now that is something to watch out for! Visit or subscribe to ALIWAN AVENUE for IAN IGNACIO updates just about anytime!
Thank you for the heads up po! Specially for Ian, there’s a bit of correction lang po… He will be depicting Igorot Warrior Lao-Ang not LANG-ANG, thanks much! Cheers!
