Recently, REGAL ENTERTAINMENT seems to regaining some lost glory with their unloading of several photoplays into theaters nationwide. Macrocosmic ba ang dating? Well, magandang senyales naman ‘yon dahil kahit papaano ay nakikitaan ang iba pang film companies [aside from StarCinema] na rumaratsada ang kani-kanilang mga kamera . Mukha nga lang karamihan sa mga ito ay so-so lamang ang kinita kumpara sa mga hundreds of millions ng StarCinema. But then, mukha namang nakasusustain ang Regal at Viva sa kanilang maya’t mayang produksyon. Nitong nakaraan, Regal did not quite make a hit with their films so todo-todo naman nilang pinopromote ang smorgasbord casting nilang ipapalabas na SOMEBODY TO LOVE. Halo-halo ang mga Kapamilya, Kapuso at Kapatid sa isang obviously romantic outing sa direksyon ni Jose Javier Reyes. At yon na. Sa presscon nila biglang nagkasigawan sina Alfie Lorenzo at Mother Lily Monteverde dahil nagpasaring si Alfie na malas daw na direktor si Reyes! Todo sigawan sila dahil natural na ipinagtanggol ni Mother Lily ang kanyang direktor. Maraming mga patutsada si Lorenzo dahil syempre sa tagal niya sa industrya at pagiging kaibigan/publicist ni Monteverde hindi maipagkakaila na feeling niya meron siyang authority na magtaray. But the lady producer of almost 60 years in the business stood on her ground. She was adamant that Lorenzo had no right to be calling people names for whatever reason he has [meron siyang falling out kay Reyes dahil hindi ito nagpaalam last year nang kunin niya ang alaga ni Alfieng si Judy Ann Santos] and that he [Lorenzo] was on her property and her affair. Yes, tama si Mother… and she is truly a mother to her children and it is one of those few times where she blew her top on an event. Some are wondering whether this is for real or just an attention-grabbing gig to lure a large mass of audience to watch SOMEBODY TO LOVE. Maya-maya lang all is well and everybody is happy again… hay showbiz…
