JANICE HUNG WRITES : Coming from a traditional Chinese-Filipino family, my parents were very protective of me and definitely wanted me to acquire their business skills. I was still in my elementary when I watched the performance of the National Wushu Team. I was really amazed by their routines that I dreamt of joining them. Being a 7 year old kid, of course, the dream was very far from reality but who knows. The feeling of becoming a Wushu athlete only sank in when I received my first kung fu shoes.
As I held the pair of kung fu shoes in my little hands, I become aware of the trainings and lots and lots of them. My childhood would be different. Instead of dolls and toys, I play with the sword and the wooden staff. Somewhat prophetic, I knew then of the opportunities should I remain focus on my Wushu training. As years passed by, I became a member of the National Wushu Team that represented the Philippines in international sports competitions.
My kung fu shoes literally took me to greater heights where I realized my abilities and shared my talent for the glory of our country. Decisiveness, Discipline, and Dedication are what I learned from my first kung fu shoes and these are the values that I want to share to the youth and to everyone. Thus, I will be launching my new project in my foundation called WUSHU STEPS it is a Buy One Share One fashionable shoes. For every pair of shoes purchased, another pair of kung fu shoes shall be donated to different communities, public schools and different provinces.
