MAJA SALVADOR & CRISTINE REYES : ‘Darna’ & ‘Dyesebel’

pizap.com13721405877021Aliwan Avenue has this thing with superheroes and legendary creatures.  A few months back we toyed on the idea as to who should play who now that ABSCBN has acquired rights to all Mars Ravelo classics which of course includes DARNA & DYESEBEL characters.  We felt that KIM CHUI would be perfect as Darna and MAJA SALVADOR as Dyesebel.  Kim is lean but then she could whip up nasty once given the right training.  Maja is naturally ‘sexy’, so that passes her as the mermaid.  But wait.  Of late, it is now almost official that Maja will be don the costume outsized by Rosa del Rosario, Eva Montes, Gina Pareño, Vilma Santos, Rio Locsin, Angel Locsin, Marian Rivera and god knows who else.  She will soon zoom around your neighborhood and save the oppressed while piling up crooks to burn.  But then, what new consequence would be feasible for such an outdated superhero in this age of gadgets and aesthetic enhancement? We will find out soon.  On the other hand, poised to swim out into the hundred islands [or this time Palawan?] is Cristine Reyes as Dyesebel… same question : What kind of story in hell would be cohesive enough to keep the scales and boobs for gills flowing logically?  We’re pretty sure, these characters will be as teleseryes and not full-lenght cinema-friendly films.  Watch out for the perch and the splash!
